Years ago I noticed that poetry, used to be read by the masses. But, by the time I was growing up poetry had been moved into the halls of academia, with big words and big thoughts that only the gatekeepers knew. It's good that poetry is more common now, even bad poetry. The good will rise to the top, whether the gate keepers like it or not. Poets should support each other, so the idea of the starving poet goes away.
